Aoife will be tutoring at StageWise 2020.
Aoife specialises in dance especially in the area of Musical theatre, Hip-hop and dance performance. Giving young adults an opportunity to express themselves through dance and movement is an invaluable gift. She loves fostering and developing talent and confidence in children, young adults and adults. Her love for the arts began at a very young age through the community games, stage schools, Renmore Pantomime and youth groups.
Aoife is a primary school teacher in Galway and completed a Master’s of Dance in Education in 2011, University of Limerick. She has worked as director and choreographer with many musical societies in the west over the past 14 years, BRAVO, Marian Choral Society, Ballinrobe Musical Society, Ballinasloe Musical Society and Dunmore Musical Society having previously worked on the “Michael Collins”, “Chicago”, “Addams Family’, ‘Pirate Queen’, ‘Titanic’, ‘Come the Dawn’, ‘Ragtime’, ‘All Shook Up’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and ‘Hairspray’, among many others. Aoife directed and choreographed St. Colman’s College, Claremorris productions of “Little shop of Horrors”, “Wizard of OZ” and “Oliver”. She has worked with Youth Work Ireland and youth groups such as Q Club over the past few years choreographing pieces for their end of year productions.
She is also the co-founder/ co-director and choreographer of Stage Left Youth Theatre in Tuam, Co. Galway. Stage Left was founded in 2009 and recently celebrated its tenth year. Aoife works with over 120 young children/ Teenagers every week encouraging creativity, versatility and excellence within the arts, developing expression and spatial and kinaesthetic awareness in a fun environment.
