TURF at Galway Theatre Festival

We are delighted to announce that our tutor Rowan Tully will be bringing a show to Galway later this month as part of Galway Theatre Festival. Rowan is one of our most loved tutors. His knowledge of mime and movement and the way he instils this skill to the StageWise students is what makes his course so very popular.

We recommend every would go see this production if you can get to Galway.

One man, one day, one bog … An gcloiseann tú an ciúnas?

TURF takes the audience on a sensory exploration where the story resonates with echoes of tradition and reality.

Performed by Frank Farrell, TURF reflects true-life experiences and tells the story of one life and many selves.

Directed by long time StageWise Tutor Rowan Tolley, TURF is part sculpture, part installation, part performance. Interweaving raw physicality, silence, voice and stillness with the smell and texture of peat sods, TURF delves deep into the Irish soul. It explores not how to hold the turf, but how the turf takes a hold of you.
